MEETUPS

Here I will share places we plan to paddle. I would love you to join us for the trip.

My paddle buddy Allen and I and others I paddle with are very easygoing and have very little rules for our trips but I would kindly ask you to read the bottom of each event before contacting me.

LLANGOLLEN CANAL
26TH SEPTEMBER 2026
Overnighting optional at Llangollen on 25th

One of the most spectacular inland kayaking journeys in Wales, combining narrow canal, dramatic Dee Valley
scenery, historic engineering, two major aqueducts and two tunnels.

10AM DEPARTURE
We will leave Llangollen and follow the canal eastwards through the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct,
a canal world heritage site. Here we will stop for a brew and can visit the museum if people want to.

We will then continue through Whitehouse Tunnel, Chirk Tunnel and across the impressive
Chirk Aqueduct before coming out in Chirk.

TRIP LOGISTICS
PARKING
I would suggest you leave car at Llangollen and then arrange a taxi back to the start from Chirk.
If you need to leave your kayak at Chirk while you go back to get the car let me know.
FOOD
I would suggest you bring all the food you may need. We may well find somewhere to buy food but assume not.
THE INFORMAL FORMAL BIT...

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL TRIP ORGANISED BY A BODY OR FORMED ORGANISATION
AND THE TRIP MAY BE CANCELLED OR DELAYED WITHOUT NOTICE AT ANY TIME.

  • You are responsible for you own safety and insurance and must have all the correct licences.
  • You will need your own kayak or canoe (Paddle boards are fine as long as you can
    keep up with us).
  • You have been paddling for at least 12 months and are able to maintain approx 2 mph.
  • You will need to do all your own wider trip organising including transport logistics.
  • You're a laugh and get on with most people.

Bringing cake or biscuits is always a good idea...

We are not keen on hardcore paddlers who are trying to prove how amazing they are or how fast they can go there are other groups for that.
